What applies on every journey

He arrives 15 minutes before the pickup time

If anything delays him, you hear about it before the pickup time rather than after it.

Rest that is recorded, not assumed

At least 9 hours off before any night drive, and never more than 6 consecutive days at the wheel. If we cannot meet that for the time you want, we say so and offer another. We do not take the work and hope.

No stop that was not agreed

No shopping stops, and no commission from anyone along the way. The route is yours, and he does not add to it.

A company number, not a personal one

His number opens two hours before pickup and closes when the journey ends. The line belongs to the company, and his contract forbids him from approaching a client outside the journey.

Dress and conduct that do not vary

Dark, tidy clothing. Conversation when it is wanted and not otherwise. No question put to a passenger that does not concern the journey.

Children and luggage

The child seat is fitted before the car leaves us, not at your door. He handles the luggage without being asked.

A chauffeur's hands on the wheel

What we check

  • A current driving licence of the right category, with its expiry date held against his name in our system.
  • A recent criminal record certificate.
  • His record of traffic offences.
  • A written contract of employment carrying the clause that forbids contact with a client outside the journey.
  • Supervised journeys before he first drives alone for us.
  • The papers of the car itself — licence, insurance and inspection — whether we own it or contract it from a supplier.

The system warns 30 days before any of these expires, and refuses the assignment once one has. That is a rule in the software, not a note on somebody's desk.

Language, and asking for someone else

Your preferences, written into the assignment.

The language is part of the assignment

Every chauffeur speaks Arabic. An English-speaking chauffeur is available on request, and French or German on some journeys. Name the language when you ask for a quotation and it is written into the assignment rather than left to the day itself.

A chauffeur you would rather not have again

Tell us and we change him. We do not ask why. The note goes into his file and he is not assigned to you again.

A chauffeur you would rather keep

Name him and we hold him for you whenever the rest rule allows. On a monthly account that is the ordinary arrangement, not a favour.

The rear seat, from inside

What to do, and who answers

Call the escalation line, +20 100 000 0001. It is a different number from the sales line, and a call to it is not passed through sales.

  • We answer within 30 minutes, and send a replacement if the journey is still under way.
  • The complaint is recorded in the chauffeur's file, and what we conclude reaches you within 48 hours.
  • He is not assigned to you again if you ask for that.

Know your chauffeur before you meet

The day before your journey, one message reaches you: the chauffeur’s name and number, the car photographed with its plate, and the pickup time.
