The difference between the two times is the checkpoints and one rest stop. It is the shortest run we drive, which is why most journeys on it go down and return within the same day. We count generously rather than tightly.
One stop, and only if you want it
We stop at the rest house on the Suez road past Maasara, about 60 km out. It has a petrol station, clean lavatories and coffee. On a run this short many passengers prefer to go straight through, and the chauffeur will ask before he pulls in.
- The stop takes 10 to 15 minutes, and it is already counted in the times above.
- With children or elderly passengers the chauffeur stops again, and the price does not change.
- We stop for fuel, prayer and rest, and for nothing else. No shopping stops are added to the route.

The return after dark, on two conditions
The Suez road is well lit as far as the Sokhna turn, and the descent to the sea after it is steep and taken slowly. Most journeys on this route come back in the evening, which is why the rest rules below apply to the return as much as to the drive down.
- At least 9 hours of rest before any night drive.
- No chauffeur drives more than 6 consecutive days.
If those conditions cannot be met, we say so and propose another time. We do not send a tired chauffeur.
Know your chauffeur before you meet
The day before your journey, one message reaches you: the chauffeur’s name and number, the car photographed with its plate, and the pickup time.
- We do not publish photographs of our chauffeurs. We publish their names, their years of service, the languages they speak, and written standards you can read.
- The chauffeur’s number opens two hours before pickup and closes when the journey ends.
- If the chauffeur or the car changes for any reason, a new message reaches you before the appointment.
What travellers ask about this road
Can we go and return on the same day?
Yes, comfortably. Two and a quarter hours each way at the outside leaves a full day at the sea and a return in the evening. The waiting hours are itemised in the same quotation.
Is the quotation for the car or for each passenger?
For the car. You reserve a class, and the quotation covers the car, the chauffeur, fuel and tolls for the whole party.
Does the chauffeur wait at the resort or leave and come back?
He stays. The car is yours for the agreed hours and he takes no other work in between.
What if we want to come back later than planned?
Tell the chauffeur. Additional hours are priced in the quotation you already hold, at the rate written there.
