The difference between the two times is two checkpoints and one rest stop. We count generously rather than tightly, so the time we give you is one we expect to beat.
One stop, known before you set off
We stop at the Kilo 80 rest house on the Desert Road, about an hour after setting off. It has a petrol station, clean lavatories, coffee and a prayer room.
- The stop takes 10 to 15 minutes, and it is already counted in the times above.
- With children or elderly passengers the chauffeur stops again, and the price does not change.
- We stop for fuel, prayer and rest, and for nothing else. No shopping stops are added to the route.

We drive it at night, on two conditions
The Desert Road is lit only in parts, and heavy-goods traffic on it rises sharply after midnight. We drive this route after dark when the chauffeur has had his full rest and the journey is not his third of the day.
- At least 9 hours of rest before any night drive.
- No chauffeur drives more than 6 consecutive days.
If those conditions cannot be met, we say so and propose another time. We do not send a tired chauffeur.
Know your chauffeur before you meet
The day before your journey, one message reaches you: the chauffeur’s name and number, the car photographed with its plate, and the pickup time.
- We do not publish photographs of our chauffeurs. We publish their names, their years of service, the languages they speak, and written standards you can read.
- The chauffeur’s number opens two hours before pickup and closes when the journey ends.
- If the chauffeur or the car changes for any reason, a new message reaches you before the appointment.
What travellers ask about this road
Does the price change if we run late?
No. The quotation covers 60 minutes of waiting, and any hours beyond that are priced in the same document, at the rate written there.
Can we go and return on the same day?
Yes. Setting off at 06:30 leaves a full day in Alexandria and a return before the road fills. The waiting hours are itemised in the same quotation, so the day is priced once.
Does the chauffeur stay with us in Alexandria?
Yes. The car and the chauffeur are yours for the agreed day, and he takes no other work while you have him.
What if the car fails on the road?
You hold an escalation number that does not go through sales, and we send a replacement car. On this road it usually reaches you within 60 to 90 minutes.
