El Alamein airport lies inland on the Dabaa road, about an hour nearer Marassi than Borg El Arab, and more so further west. Summer peaks and village gates can add time.
What changes the drive time on the coast
- A small airport in a busy seasonThe civil aviation ministry puts the El Alamein terminal at about 600 passengers an hour, so bags can be slow when flights land together. Waiting runs from the actual landing; the first 60 minutes are in the quotation.
- Villages go by the kilometreOn the Alexandria–Matrouh road a place is known by its kilometre from Alexandria: New Alamein between 100 and 123, Sidi Abdel Rahman, with Marassi and Hacienda Bay, between 124 and 144, and Ras El Hekma between 178 and 220.
- Two roads, two speed limitsSince late July 2026 the limit for private cars on the Wadi El Natrun–El Alamein road has been 120 km/h. On the coast road from Kilo 21 to Kilo 153, past Marina, New Alamein and Marassi, it is 80 km/h from July to September.
- Ras El Hekma by the Dabaa axisThe Dabaa axis meets the coast road west of Dabaa town and has only 4 branches, all on its eastern side, which makes it the direct way in to Ras El Hekma. Ras El Hekma lies beyond Kilo 153, outside the summer limit.
From the arrivals hall to the chalet door
- El Alamein International AirportWe fix one meeting point in the arrivals hall with you before you fly. The message you receive the day before describes it and gives the chauffeur's name, his number and the plate.
- Borg El Arab (Alexandria International)Its official name since 4 September 2025 is Alexandria International Airport. We meet you in the arrivals hall at the agreed point.
- MarassiIt runs from Kilo 125 to Kilo 129, so we ask for the map pin of the gate you are going to, not only the name of the resort.
- A villa or chalet inside a villageAt the door itself if the village lets the car in, otherwise at the gate. The chauffeur arrives 15 minutes before the agreed time.
- Hotels in New AlameinNew Alamein is an open city, not a gated resort, so we meet you at the hotel door with no gate to arrange.
We reach any village on the coast road from Marina El Alamein in the east to Almaza Bay in the west: New Alamein; Marassi, Hacienda Bay, Hacienda White and Telal at Sidi Abdel Rahman; Ras El Hekma and Fouka Bay; and Sidi Heneish.

Know your chauffeur before you meet
The day before your journey, one message reaches you: the chauffeur’s name and number, the car photographed with its plate, and the pickup time.
- We do not publish photographs of our chauffeurs. We publish their names, their years of service, the languages they speak, and written standards you can read.
- The chauffeur’s number opens two hours before pickup and closes when the journey ends.
- If the chauffeur or the car changes for any reason, a new message reaches you before the appointment.
Questions families send before the summer
Which airport is nearer our village, El Alamein or Borg El Arab?
For Marassi and west to Ras El Hekma, El Alamein: about an hour nearer, and more the further west you go. Villages close to Alexandria are nearer Borg El Arab. For Almaza Bay the closest is Marsa Matrouh airport, 40–50 minutes away.
Will the chauffeur be allowed into our village?
Each village sets its own rules. At Marassi, for instance, a visitor enters only on an invitation the owner registers under the visitor's name and ID number. His name and the car's plate reach you a day ahead, for the village if it asks.
Where does the chauffeur stay if he is with us all summer?
Everything about his stay, lodging included, is a written line in the quotation before you approve it. He never drives more than 6 consecutive days, and a named relief covers his rest days. See a chauffeur by the month.
When should we leave Cairo to avoid the traffic?
Between 06:00 and 07:30. The road is crowded on summer Thursdays and clear before seven, and the drive takes 3:45 to 4:30 with one stop. The route page shows where it is and how the road runs.
Tell us the village and your arrival date
A written, itemised quotation follows within 15 minutes, between 09:00 and 23:00 Cairo time. Put the village in the request, with its kilometre if you know it; the drive time from the airport is worked out from that.
